Garatge Plana, car dealer and authorised garage for Mercedes-Benz and Smart, is a company with a long tradition in the world of the automobiles. At the end of the Civil War, Agustí Plana i Veciana (1910-1962) foundeda mechanic’s in Figueres (Alt Empordà). From that strategic vision, at a time when having a car was more a dream than a reality for our country, what we have become today was born.
At the end of the 1950s, our company began its relationship with Mercedes-Benz, first as sub-agents for the popular DKW vans and, from 1971, as the official distributor of the make in the northern part of the province of Girona.
At the beginning of 1980 Garatge Plana took over as representative for the whole province, marking its presence in Girona with various facilities, first,provisionally in Sant Julià de Ramis and later in its current location in Fornells de la Selva (Gironès).
Since then it has gradually grown, and today, after moving its headquarters to Vilamalla (Alt Empordà) and setting up establishments in Mont-ras (Baix Empordà) in Blanes (La Selva) and in Olot (Garrotxa), it makes available to its customers a team of more than 100 professionals trained to Mercedes Benz’s standards, divided among five establishments across a total of over 36,000 m2.
Currently the company is dedicated to selling Mercedes-Benz and Smart makes and, at the same time, used vehicles. In its workshops, it offers a wide range of maintenance services and mechanical repairs, bodywork repairs and painting of cars, vans, people carriers and Smart cars; as well as a Comprehensive Service for Mercedes-Benz and Fuso trucks.
